Why are these small dogs (Pomeranians) so expensive???

Many people who don’t know much about this breed get quite the sticker shock when they inquire about pricing. If you are looking for a top-quality Pomeranian, who’s been bred properly and humanely (not coming from your typical backyard breeder or puppy mill), be ready to see a price tag in the high $1,500 range up to even $4,500. For me personally, there are many components that go into producing Pomeranians because I really strive to improve this breed. For example, assessing dam and sire candidates who show proper temperament, soundness, good coat quality and other aesthetics. Aside from all that, a reputable breeder as myself, will spend a lot of resources for the upbringing of the sires and dams, which include top quality dog food, supplements, training, vaccinations, whelping supplies, etc. All dogs in my home are brought up as pets in a non-kennel environment. So now you can see, there’s a lot of hard work, resources and time put into these dogs and at the end of the day, many times not much money is really made. But our love and commitment is what makes us do what we do.

Please remember, a dog is a long-term commitment who will in return give you 10, 15 or even up to 20 years of unconditional loyalty, love and happiness! For that reason, we strive to find homes that are really ready for the lifelong commitment in giving the pet the best home and care possible. As Roger A. Caras would say, “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
